Renowned worldwide crime author Agatha Christie was a constant guest of Pera Palace Hotel, and she always stayed in Room 411. It is a well-known rumor that this was the room Christie wrote her bestseller novel, Murder on the Orient Express. The room still has its original antique furniture and library with Agatha’s published books in several languages and the replica of the typewriter used by the author.
The room offers a unique stay experience with its character that accompanied the most precious times of more than a hundred years old history.

The building was designed by a renowned French-Ottoman architect from the turn of the 19th and 20th century, Alexander Vallaury. Under his guidance, an exceptional neo-classical exterior façade and oriental interior ballroom were designed in perfect harmony.

Pera Palace Hotel began its journey in 1895, for the purpose of hosting the passengers of the Orient Express, a long-distance passenger train service created in 1883 by Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits. It is considered the oldest European hotel in Turkey.
